
But one has to be careful because an upgrade may have negative effects on any current applications that you are running. Typically, you can upgrade PHP and maybe mySQL. When did you purchase your hosted server? GoDaddy has had different versions of Hosted Servers, so what you have may or may not be current.

For example, on my GoDaddy Hosted Server, I am running PHP 5.4.23, and mySQL 5.5.32, which is adequate for Moodle 2.7. But maybe you have a higher versions, look carefully. Moodle 2.7 requirements are PHP 5.4.4, MySQL 5.5.3. So PHP 5.4.1 and mySQL 5.0 won't work.
